“You start out with the best of intentions, but inevitably you hurt each other. I love you, but that didn't stop me from hurting you last night, or this morning. Love sucks. It's just the way it is.”

Falling in love is easy. But what happens when that love has been tossed aside and trampled on by the person who swore to cherish it? Can you ever trust again, or will the bitter taste of betrayal keep you from allowing anyone else in?

Carter and Elizabeth come with their own baggage. Both have had their hearts broken and carry the scars of the past into their relationship with each other. Is love ever enough? Can it overcome?

By allowing the wrong person into her heart Elizabeth only knew of love tainted with secrets and lies. Can Carter convince her he wants the whole package, heart, body and soul? As Carter attempts to face his past with Elizabeth by his side, it continues to haunt him at every turn. Can he let go and believe in her enough to leave his past behind him, or will he push too hard and send her running into another man’s arms?

This was a fun NA read.  At times, watching their relationship was almost like watching a train wreck.  I could not look away no matter how horribly things were falling apart for them.  Have no fears this there are no evil cliff hangers and things end well, but watching their miscommunication and seeing them make decisions based on old baggage really still had me cringing at times. Carter and Elizabeth were interesting characters, but my favorite was her sister and I am hoping we get to read more about her in the future.  I will admit that I did not totally buy the bad boy side of Carter.  I did however really love his passion for helping those with Autism and was excited to see the issue being brought to light without being preachy or stealing from the storyline.  I will probably read more by this author.

Into You is the engaging new novel by Danielle Sibarium. There was so much going on within this story, and it kept my attention completely, which is something I love. The characters were believable and lovable. The two main characters have some pretty serious baggage to work through. Elizabeth was very easy for me to relate to with her relationship fears. Carter had even more to work through, so his progress took longer, and I really enjoyed watching his transformation. I worry about him still though. I imagine he'll continue to carry the trust issues for a while. It would be hard not to given what he's been through. Poor Carter was betrayed in the worst way by two people who are supposed to love him most in the world. That is a kind of hurt that's pretty impossible to come back from. Yes, I'm worrying about a fictional character's future. That's the effect this book had though. I felt invested in these characters. Lastly, I absolutely love how they meet, and I love how Carter re-visits that later. It was super cute and a nice touch to the story line.

The ARC of Into You by Danielle Sibarium was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
