This book is about the basic introduction to Silverlight 3. The book tells you what Silverlight is and what tools you can used to create Silverlight applications. Some of the tools are Expression Blend and Visual Studio. The first part of the book is about XAML and how Silverlight uses XAML, how you can use controls to animate. The second part of the book is about programming with Silverlight with .NET. It shows you how you can build your own controls. Then you will look into data communication , animation programming, and managing media. This book is good only for introduction not for advanced users in Silverlight. It is a good starter book for beginners only. I like chapter four-teen databinding with Silverlight, its got lots of sample code to work with. Laurence Moroney did a good job on the book. One more thing I forgot to mention is that this book is based on Silverlight 3 beta. The scroll viewer and slider controls are things to look at and remember!
