Great book if you want to know more about agility training or want to start your dog on it.

This is a fantistic book. I got it to see if my Westie would be a good canadate for agility training. I can hardly wait for warmer weather so we can start. He is getting used to rings to go through and small jumps and a small tunnel in the house.

    From the Author

Dog Agility is one of the fastest growing dog sports. This book is intended for the beginner who is looking to learn and have fun with his or her dog. It's a great sport for anyone with a dog -- your dog doesn't have to be a purebred. I cover selecting a dog (if you don't already have one), conditioning your dog, nutrition, health, travelling with dogs, entering a trial, the differences between AKC, UKC, USDAA, and NADAC agility, agility rules, training on obstacles, handling fundamentals and problems. I emphasize positive training techniques and focus on having fun with your dog. This book is full color with step-by-step photographs showing you how to train your dog on obstacles and in sequencing. You'll see a variety of breeds represented from Yorkies to Great Danes. Look for the white Alaskan Malamute -- that's my own dog, Kiana. She's ranked as the #6 Novice Agility Malamute in 1999. I hope you'll enjoy this book -- I had a lot of fun writing it. This is my second book, my first is Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers.
