    Awful

    If you are as unfortunate as I was to use this piece of work I am sorry. Unless Gilbert Strang is teaching your class you are in for a world of hurt.

    The pros of this book are that it is designed for computing so if you have some knowledge for that you might be ok. My only recommendation is to go to every class and take excellent notes and hopefully your professor will work out good examples.

    Bioengineering Fundamentals

    Professor who wrote this book is amazing.

    This is such a great textbook. In fact, the professor who wrote it works at MIT, and I have wound up just watching his lectures online instead of going to my own class. The textbook serves as notes to his lectures, so it's really nice to just listen to him, and then refer to the book when I'm doing homework. He actually puts a little bit of humor into his book, and he really knows his stuff. I would highly recommend getting this book. Also, there are a lot of partial solutions in the back, which is really helpful. Plus the price on here was really good.

    A useful self-education linear algebra textbook

    Strang's text is much more useful as a self-education text on linear algebra rather than a reference book; the organization and presentation of the material appear to have been designed in a manner that deliberately requires the reader to work a bit in order to absorb the topics presented. (This makes the book a useful choice as a text for basic linear algebra courses.) It follows that readers who are looking for a straightforward and succinct reference of linear algebra axioms and theorems should consider a book other than Strang's text.
