Description: This is the third edition of a book designed to provide an understanding of sectional anatomy and its applications in clinical imaging. The previous edition was published in 2008.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide patient images using a variety of current imaging modalities such as CT, MR, PET/CT, and ultrasound including 3D imaging of vascular and bony anatomy. This edition has been expanded to include the latest 3D and 4D technology, including ultrasound, CTA, MRA and PET/CT images.
Audience: The primary audience is student radiographers and radiographers in the field of CT/MRI. It is intended for students who have completed one or two semesters of study in anatomy and physiology before attempting to discern sectional images.

The book includes ancillaries such as workbooks, test banks, and PowerPoint slides. Shortcomings of the book include smaller MR and CT images to accommodate the increased CT and 3D imaging. The size of the more important MR and CT images is lessened by a large amount of open space for a simple directional rosette at the bottom of each page.
Assessment: This third edition is still one of the best sectional anatomy books. Although I wish some of the CT and MRI images were larger, I do understand the necessity of demonstrating and visualizing the more contemporary imaging modalities in this book.
