I Also Recommend:
Extremely biased look at our culture which only perpetuates racism and separation in our society. Stating every problem of each race is caused by white people is completely unfounded and absurd and only hurts our society. For an unbiased look into race I recommend reading an intellectually stimulating book called "Race Matters" by Cornel West however unfortunately I cannot recommend another social work book as this is the only one at this level I have read. It gives a decent look at social work as a whole, however I found his statements and information offensive and unfounded. For example he states (not in exact words) our history books don't really talk about African Americans. Again, I would have to disagree with that statement.
I cannot recommend this book to college students/professors as I believe it only perpetuates separation in society.

Charles Zastrow, MSW, Ph.D., is a professor in the MSW program at George Williams College in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. He previously taught in the Social Work Department of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin, Dr. Zastrow has worked as a practitioner for various agencies, chaired social work accreditation site visit teams for the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and served on the Commission on Accreditation of CSWE. He also is a member of the BPD board.
