Meet the Author

JOAN WELKOWITZ, PhD, (deceased) was professor of psychology atNew York University. She directed the graduate clinical program forten years. She taught courses in methodology and statistics at boththe graduate and undergraduate levels for more than twenty-fiveyears and was the primary author of Introductory Statistics for theBehavioral Sciences.

BARRY H. COHEN, PhD, is the Director of the master's program inpsychology at New York University, where he has been teachingstatistics for more than twenty years. He is the coauthor of twoother successful statistics books from Wiley—ExplainingPsychological Statistics, Third Edition, and Essentials ofStatistics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences.
