Meet the Author

The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another—Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel. Takahashi won the Shogakukan Manga Award twice in her career, once for Urusei Yatsura in 1981 and the second time for Inuyasha in 2002. A majority of the Takahashi canon has been adapted into other media such as anime, live-action TV series, and film."

    SWEET Ani-Manga!

I bought this ani-manga for myself awhile back and just bought one for my best friend's birthday and she loves it! We both have been big fans of the InuYasha series since we were young teenagers and this ani-manga has WONDERFUL animated art from the anime and an AWESOME storyline! It has alot of ancient Japanese mythology and we LOVE IT! This series is very fun, entertaining, neat, creative, charming, and enjoyable. It has action, horror, romance, drama, comedy, EVERYTHING! A great buy! We are very satisfied customers!

Ready to sit on the edge of your seat?

Inu Yaha is a great manga/ ani-manga / Tv show. Once you start in on this series you'll be obsessed. Inu Yasha is about a girl, Kagome, who finds herself able to pass through time. She meets a stubborn dog demon (Well at least close to it) he's a half demon who searches for the sacred jewel to become a full demon. Inu Yasha is humorous and adventurous and I can guarantee you'll love it.

    Just Got Hooked

Having recently discovered the laughs and thrills of InuYasha on 'adult swim', I've also become an avid reader of the manga books. I've purchased both the ani-manga and manga editions. Both types are great books with the ani-manga being a higher quality book. Both books are done in comic book style (pictures and captions). If you're wondering what the differences are, here goes: The ani-manga follows the script of the TV series and is done in color. Books are read from back to front and right to left, as is done in Japan. At this time, there are only 6 books out, with the 7th coming available in January. Each book covers three of the TV episodes. The manga books (currently up to 20 books available) are done in black and white but have a bit more background information, a few minor differences in the storyline (which all comes together in the end), and are also a bit more graphic in nature. I would highly recommend either set, with the ani-manga being a better choice for those who are younger or more faint-of-heart.

    Miroku-dono

InuYasha is a really great animanga (meaning it is both a manga and a show/anime) with great story lines and funny characters. I truly recommend this book for those manga seekers who like comedy, action, romance, and a really great bunch of characters (especially Miroku, he is my favorite!) So get this manga book and watch the shows! L8er!
