Meet the Author

The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another—Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel. Takahashi won the Shogakukan Manga Award twice in her career, once for Urusei Yatsura in 1981 and the second time for Inuyasha in 2002. A majority of the Takahashi canon has been adapted into other media such as anime, live-action TV series, and film."

    I LOVE INUYASHA! :-)

It's awesome! Its romantic, a little bit of comedy and lots of fighting! All the guy characters are cute like Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, Naraku, Miroku! I don't like Kikyo because she still loves Inuyasha and i don't want Inuyasha and Kikyo to go back together. I want Inuyasha and Kagome to be together FOREVER!!

Goddess of Anime, Inu-Yasha fan-fic writer and long-term fan

Inu-Yasha is a very good series. The fluff in it great for the girl fans and all the fights are great for guy fans but the humour is awesome for both genders. I especially love picking apart the relationships. If you have only seen the show then that's a shame. The series is way better and worth the money, unlike the show. The drawing is clear and unique whilst the show is a bit on the sloppy side.... People, I could go on forever here. So if anyone here is thinking of watching the show I reccomend you read it first because the first six and a half chapters in volume nine ended up being in season three (how is follow ing the story line?!). Hope this helps ya'll in what- ever you decide about it. Laughs and mistakes, Goddess of Anime
