Meet the Author

The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another—Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel.

    SWEET Manga!

I bought this manga for myself awhile back and just bought one for my best friend's birthday and she loves it! We both have been big fans of the InuYasha series since we were young teenagers and this manga has WONDERFUL art and an AWESOME storyline! It has alot of ancient Japanese mythology and we LOVE IT! This series is very fun, entertaining, neat, creative, charming, and enjoyable. It has action, horror, romance, drama, comedy, EVERYTHING! A great buy! We are very satisfied customers!

    more from this reviewer

    VIZBIG FTW

Volume 2 of the Inuyasha VIZBIG edition does not disappoint! The bigger size of the actual pages is still very pleasing and the value of getting three volumes in one cannot be beat. In this volume we meet the lecherous monk Miroku, who attempts to steal the jewel shards from Kagome. After a bit of conflict we learn that Miroku is chasing a demon named Naraku, who is said to have killed the priestess Kikyo 50 years ago! This is news to Inuyasha, who up until that point had always assumed he had been betrayed by Kikyo all those years agao. This volume also brings about the resurrection of the priestess Kikyo along with the deep hatred and love felt between her and Inuyasha. All in all this was another action packed and exciting volume of Inuyasha!

    Absolutely Wonderful

I loved this volume. It introduces my favorite character, Sesshoumaru!! The events in this volume really begin to spark Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship. Rumiko Takahashi's work is the best, in my opinion! You can see the characters' every emotion and movement. I would recommend this to anyone who loves comedy/action/romance.

    Awesome book!!

I never really liked reading these kind of books but when I came across one at my friend's house, I asked him if I could read it and he said I could have it. When I read the first book, I got locked on it for life! I suggest this book series to whom ever likes reading action, fantasy, and romantic Japanese comic books!

    MOST WONDERFUL ANIME EVER!!!

This is the fist volume of the InuYasha manga I've read. Unfortunately, they took the anime off the air... *sniff* :( (blame Cartoon Network!!!) I fell in love the first time I laid eyes on the anime, and when I first saw my friend reading the manga, I HAD to borrow it from her. LOVE it! Planning to buy the series :)

    The Best!

This is one of the best series of all time! I especially loved it. This one finishes off the fight with Yura, and introduces you to one of the best villains, Sesshomaru! I would rate this book more if it didn't only go up to five stars. ^_^

    Inu Yasha is the BEST!!!

I love this volume because you see the first hint of compassion from InuYasha since when he ws battling Sesshomaru for the Tetsaiga(The sword) He told Kagome to let him protect her. I thought that was really sweet. Also, you feel the first glint of compassion towards Inu Yasha from Kagome too!

    WOW!!! SO GOOD!!!!!!!!

How does Rumiko Takashi draw so good?? The drawings are great and so is the plotline. I've read Inuyasha vol. 1 also and it's really great. Though there is a little bit of blood, i actually enjoyed the blood, it doesn't make the story gross or anything. A little nudity, but if you ignore that it's a great book! My god people!! It's manga for crying out loud, yes i did say nudity! Well i cant wait till i get my 3rd vol. and when i buy my 12th one, i dont want it to end there! Viz graphics better get a move on and bring the rest of the volumes into the US!!
