Overview

Rumiko Takahashi's manga epic in its original format!; Historical action and romance from one of Japan's most beloved creators!

Reads R to L (Japanese Style) T+ audience.

Kagome is an ordinary modern schoolgirl living an ordinary life. Who would have thought the dried-up old well on the site of her family's shrine would be a gateway to Japan's ancient past? Drawn through the gate against her will, Kagome finds herself battling demons for control of what she thought was a worthless trinket but is actually a powerful magical gem, the Shikon Jewel! Together with an unlikely ally, the half demon Inuyasha, Kagome begins a quest to recover the shards of the Shikon Jewel and learn more about her link to the past.

Love Cuts to the Bone. With the power granted by a large piece of the Shikon Jewel, Naraku's scheming is in high gear as his minions go forth to do his bidding. Kikyo, the priestess whose duty it once was to guard the jewel, gave the fragment to him, but why? Then Inuyasha takes on another of Naraku's evil offspring, a demon that inhabits the very sword his half brother Sesshomaru wields. Naraku's human origins may yet prove to be his downfall if Kikyo can exploit his weaknesses by forcing him to make a difficult choice, one that is mirrored by Inuyasha's lost love for Kikyo and a possible future with Kagome!

Meet the Author

The spotlight on Rumiko Takahashi's career began in 1978 when she won an honorable mention in Shogakukan's annual New Comic Artist Contest for Those Selfish Aliens. Later that same year, her boy-meets-alien comedy series, Urusei Yatsura, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. This phenomenally successful manga series was adapted into anime format and spawned a TV series and half a dozen theatrical-release movies, all incredibly popular in their own right. Takahashi followed up the success of her debut series with one blockbuster hit after another—Maison Ikkoku ran from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996, and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Other notable works include Mermaid Saga, Rumic Theater, and One-Pound Gospel.

I really enjoy Inuyasha! It's been going on for about seven years now, and it's SO popular, even now! This is the volume where Miroku comes in, I think... ^_^ He's really funny, so I really recommend this volume (and all of the others, of course!).

Inuyasha is cool and a lot of action. Kagome and Inuyasha to find the shikon jewel and they were attack by Mikrou. I didn't like Kikyo attacking Inuyasha and Mikou kinaps Kagome from inuyasha. Anyways I love this maga and recommend it.

I started watching the series of Inuyasha at my friend's house, and I've been hooked for a while. It's got a really good story plot, but it's a little cliche. But, the romantce plots really are romantic, and the action is awesome. I recommend this a lot!

I'm a huge anime fan. I know of and have seen/read more than my fair share of anime. But Inuyasha takes the cake. It's got everything you'd want to watch or read. You don't even have to like anime to love this show. I have turned so many of my friends onto Inuyasha, who, before hand, wouldn't be caught dead getting involved with anime. It has romance, comedy, action, adventure, sibling rivalry, you name it!

I love Inuyasha but i have to wait until Aug25 for it to come on air! what! i also can't wait until i collected all the books and rec all the shows because i'm tried of not recing the other stuff to the show and i hope to see the other part with Kagome and Koga and see what happens with them!!! I think i'm so nuts because i'm reading one of the books and writting this at the same time! p.s. hope you like this show to like me!!! And one thing that i like is Inuyasha's stubborness and Kagome's crazyness and i like that in stories like this!!!!!!!!!!! pss. I think it should win a grammy or something like that!!! And i also love the charecters like the monk like how he is and all and shippo like teasing Inuyasha and all and Kikyo for the jeoseousy type with Inuyasha and Kagome and stuff!!!!!
