My book club read this in the context of our "food" theme of the year after boredom was beginning to creep in from reading too many recipes and biographies of food critics. We all loved this book and highly recommend it. While curried sausage triggers the author's memory, it serves to track an WWII story not often told, one that draws you in quietly but certainly. As the main character barters all aspects of her life, readers keep negotiating with themselves,to have dinner or keep reading? Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
