Overview

Olivia's best friend is not imaginary. He's not a ghost, either. And she's pretty sure he's not a hallucination. He's just Mason.

He is, however, invisible.

When Olivia spotted the crying little boy on her front porch at five years old, she had no idea she was the only one who could see him. Twelve years later when new-girl Robin bumps into the both of them and introduces herself to Mason, they are both stunned.

Mason couldn't be more pleased that someone else can see him. Olivia, on the other hand, isn't jumping at the chance to welcome Robin into their circle. Jealousy may have something to do with that, but honest fear that Robin's presence will put Mason in danger is soon validated when a strange black car shows up outside Olivia's house.

The race to find out what Robin knows in time to protect Mason from whatever threats are coming becomes Olivia's only focus.

Invisible by DelSheree Gladden is a new, terrific way of looking into the oddness of this world. I enjoyed the alternating pov's as all the characters are uniquely endearing. Best friends to soul mates is not new, even when one of them is invisible, but the plot line in this one really kept the pages turning. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. Not really a cliffhanger, as I started reading it knowing it was more than one book, but there are a lot of questions to be answered. I read this one as part of the Pandora collection and dropped a star for editing.

This is probably my all time favorite story. Not kidding!! I absolutely loved the story line. It makes me want to talk to kids who have imaginary friends... Just to see what they say. LOL This book was honestly outstanding and breathtaking to me. The plot was a roller coaster ride – from intriguing to awe-inspiring and back again. The characters were well developed and so engaging. Who thinks of ideas like these?? Not me, that’s for sure. The creativity to write something like this astounds me. I am already a huge fan of Gladden’s but this completely blew me away. I don't know why certain books make me feel so strongly, I'm not creative enough or, apparently, insightful enough to know. However, it is so rare for me to feel this way about a book. I can honestly say there is maybe 2 other books that I've read where I was blown away like this. Don't get me wrong, I have about 30 favorite books - but this one blows 97% of those out of the water. I loved every minute of this story. I have to say the first few lines did me in... "My best friend is not imaginary. He's not a ghost, either. And I'm pretty sure he isn't a hallucination. He's just Mason. He is, however, invisible." That was it, I was hooked. So creative!! This story was wonderfully thrilling and completely delightful to my very UNcreative mind. Again, who thinks of these things?? I loved the idea of it all. crazy good. Other awesome things about this story - the emphasis on family is truly remarkable. I simply adore Olivia's family for what they did. This story had so much "secret-keeping" that is wonderful to get the overall feeling of how important honesty and communication are to the characters. And then there's Mason & Olivia... Surprisingly, I didn't find myself falling in love with Mason. Instead, I found that I loved how he loved Olivia. I'm not saying he isn't swoon-worthy. It’s just that everything about these two is just so darn sweet and real that I couldn't separate his character from hers very much in order to fall for him. I love my book boyfriends and Gladden sure knows how to make me swoon (ie Braden in The Destroyer trilogy) but in this story I was too in love with the love between Mason and Olivia to fall for him fully. They are a package deal. And I love them even more for that. It was just so darn delectable. I can't get over it... sigh… I can’t say much more about this story because thankfully Gladden left out a lot in her summary and I would hate to ruin the story for others. Read this!! I promise you won’t be disappointed. So very innovative – I’ve never read anything even remotely similar this before. Absolutely amazing story!!

Invisible is a haunting journey of a lost soul as he desperately battles to figure out who he is while trying to protect those he loves in the process. This is such a sweet yet fiery story that will steal your heart and take you on quite an adventure. If you keep your mind and your heart open, you will discover mysteries that have been kept well hidden and experience a love that transcends any obstacle. Olivia can be viewed as the girl next door, but this girl has a secret. She has a friend that only she can see. Mason entered her life when they were 5 years old, and since then he has become part of her family. They wouldn’t have it any other way as they all have come to care for Mason (even if they can’t all see him), and he has never doubted their love and devotion to him. Then, one fateful day, a new student at their high school admits that she can see Mason, and their lives are consequently turned upside down. I can’t truly express how much I loved watching the deep and tender love develop between Olivia and Mason. They have known each other most of their lives, so they already have a strong bond of friendship that they have come to cherish and appreciate. To watch it grow into something much deeper and more meaningful to both of them was absolutely breathtaking and had me sighing at times. Even though they fight their feelings because they are unsure how the other is feeling, Mason is having a hard time holding back his true feelings for Olivia. He longs to share his entire heart with his best friend, but is Olivia ready to take their relationship to the next level and jeopardize what they have? While some will disagree with me, I think it is better to love with everything that you are then to never experience it at all. Love is the spice and flavor of life. Otherwise, we walk around with a bland taste in our mouth while a feeling of unknown loss pulls as the outer edges of our mind and hollows out our heart. Even if that love is torn from us viciously or grows cold over the years, we can at least say that we lived a much fuller albeit painful life with it then without it. Without emotions, what is the meaning of our existence? We are nothing if not creatures of emotion. They expand and complete who we are. My heart tells me that it would rather risk the pain and loss that comes with loving fiercely and fully then to deny it and allow my heart to grow bitter and shrivel up from non-use. I desire to be swept off my feet by the impetuousness that is love, have my soul bursting with the passion and fulfillment that comes with risking it all, and allow my heart to be pushed to its extremes revealing all that I am to another. I was impressed with the emphasis on honesty within the pages of this book. Honesty needs to be present all the time in all circumstances within every relationship otherwise it is worthless. We cannot pick and choose when to use it and expect things to work out. We will unintentionally invite pain and destruction into our lives when we decide that we can’t open up to the people we love. If they can’t trust you, then they will be forced to find one that they can trust. The hurt brought on from deceit is one that settles deep within the heart and it is hard to get rid of. Save yourself all of this heartache and just make a promise to yourself and those you love to always be open and honest with them no matter what. It will make your life so much easier. Family was another issue that was highlighted from beginning to end. What binds a family together is not just blood. Unconditional love and acceptance is at the heart of what defines a true family. Even among people whose circle you were not born into can love you just as much if not more than those who brought you into this world. In order to maintain and return their unconditional love and acceptance, we must remember to treat each other with respect and sincerity. Never take each other for granted for on that day you will lose each other and your solid foundation will begin to crumble. DelSheree Gladden is the wonderful artesian of this impressive masterpiece. The heart and soul that she pours into this book is astounding and awe-inspiring. I have found myself smitten with her creation, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I look forward to reading more of her stories if this one is of any indication of how awesome her other ones are.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  I really wanted to enjoy this book more. An invisible boy (Mason) that only Olivia can see. And now he is being hunted down by a group of people and they are trying to find out why. It had some intense twists, but ultimately the rules of Mason's invisibility seem all over the place. This person can see him, and this person can only hear him when she's touching Mason. It got to be a bit daunting. I enjoyed the characters and the idea was intriguing enough that I may read the next book.

Invisible is the first installment in The Aerling Series and it is an awesome series. Once you read Invisible you can't wait to read Intangible.  Mason is invisible and he is not imaginary. Only Olivia is able to see him. They met when both were five years old. Olivia found Mason sitting on her porch crying (feels sad for him, I can picture his sad adorable face). She takes him in and asks her parents, they approve obviously thinking he is imaginary. But after some incidents they accepts him with open arms.  A new girl Robin stumbles upon them and introduces herself to both of them, yes both of them. She can see Mason, which leave both of them stunned. Mason is happy someone besides his family can see him. On other hand Olivia is not ready to believe the new girl. They both want answers, but they were not prepared to dive head first into the world of Aerlings, Caretakers, Escorts and dangerous Sentinels who are now after Mason for his life. Sentinel attacks, searching for answers which are hard to find with Mason having nightmares which could be true, their world is turned is upside down. The story is great, I'm glad I stumbled upon it and fell, don't worry not hurt. If you haven't read, you are missing out. A great, awesome, intriguing, thrilling and a must read.
