iPad 3rd Generation for Creative Beginners

iPad 3rd Generation for Creative Beginners is aimed at basic users, as well as, if not primarily, those who have never held an iPad in their hands. Of course, advanced users will probably learn a new trick or two, but frankly, I didn't write this book with them in mind. Any prior knowledge of any kind of computer is not necessary, but it could be handy, otherwise you may need to read certain paragraphs several times.
After the first three introductory chapters, this manual tries to explain the basics of handling the iPad in a concentrated manner: navigation, Internet connectivity, synchronization with PCs, searching, downloading, installing and deinstalling applications, settings, and more. It also explains pre-instaled applications. Chapters about other applications, other important practical purposes, and less-intended uses of the iPad follow. At the end, you will find a list of frequently asked questions, if you are one of those who is not inclined to read the whole book.
While writing this book, iPad 3rd generation was running on operating systems iOS versions 5.1 and 6.0 beta, so I based all examples and explanations on this model and these two versions of iOS. (The differences between them are explained as they appear.) Because iPhone, Apple TV, and iPod touch use the same operating system, this book may also interest users of these devices. However, they are not discussed specifically, because they have their own characteristics and often there are simply too many differences to mention separately. Same goes for previous generations of iPads.
This is in fact second edition of this book (after that for iPad 2). It got expanded with some new chapters (Siri, Apple ID, Clock, Kids and iPad, etc.), some other existing ones grew exponentially: iCloud, new Maps with street navigation, File transfer... There are also quite a few new tips, FAQs and suggestions, how to use your iPad creatively.
