Iran: A Revolution in Turmoil is the first book about the Iranian revolution written entirely by Iranians. The book examines the development process in Iran, including a critique of the Shah's policies and their effect on oil, agriculture, and the tribal and urban populations. Iran: A Revolution in Turmoil contains the first English translation of several speeches by Ayatollah Motahari, which formed the theoretical framework of the Islamic revolution.
