Bought this book because DK Ireland was out of print. Also bought the Rick Steves' Ireland. Then found the DK Ireland at a different store. Like all three books, kept all three rather than return one. They each are different and I wanted to read as much as possible before going and make the days there really count. This book offers little in the restaurant/hotel categories, so if you're looking for that type assistance, this book isn't what you want. This book is best for understanding the history and culture. It is very good for details of specific sites. If you only want to use one book for visiting Ireland go with the DK (now out of print--copies of 2007 can be found) or the Rick Steves'. DK best all around, Rick Steves' absolutely best for inexperienced travelers.
