Although Nora Roberts' trilogy series, Irish Born, was not created to promote travel to Ireland, readers will undoubtedly want to book a flight there as soon as they put the book down. Nora Roberts is masterful at creating detailed characters, page by page. In this trilogy readers become entranced with learning the intricacies of three sisters' vulnerabilities, their innermost fears and desires. The author successfully weaves details of each woman's career--glass artist, bed and breakfast owner, to enhance the readers' depth of understanding about each character. The melancholy setting of the Irish countryside complements the mysterious unknown life of the girls' father. Irish traditional life near a small town abounds as the story integrates farm life, pub life, and the closeness of a small community. Perhaps the most compelling aspect of this trilogy is the relationship that each woman finds with three equally strong men. As their relationships grow, the women's inherent strengths are supported by the men in their lives. Heartwarming, romantic and set in a beautiful Irish countryside, this Nora Roberts trilogy is a great read on the back porch. Within the first few pages of this book you will be searching Kayak for the best flight deals to Ireland!

normally i dont read nora roberts, not because i dont like her writing but because i would rather delve deeper into more serious writers that dont just deal with matters of the heart. however, i picked up this book because she was speaking of the towns that my family has come from so it interested me. i am only half way done with it but if you love a love story that is somewhat predictable and makes your heart feel happy after reading it then its a great book for you. an easy read and an easy escape to get lost in an irish tale.

I could not put the book down! I finished it in a week. The description of each character and their different personalities came through in this book. It felt like I was there in Ireland and can visualize the green fields.

I have read all of Nora Roberts trilogies and sagas, and this one is her best. I loved it and have reread it several times. Definately recommend this book for a personal read, and I have given it as a gift more than once.

I loved this entire trilogy. I finished all three books in less than 2 weeks. Nora Roberts is my favorite author for romance novels. I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone who loves: romance, a good book, but most importantly, Ireland.

I may not be Irish by birth but I am by heart so I really looked forward to this particular series. I loved the first two stories...I really loved Maggie & Brianna and their respective stories. The characters had a lot of depth and strength and their men were lovely! However, by the time the series got to Born in Shame, Shannons story...it felt like the story was rushed and didn't take time to really develop the characters. Regardless of the third story though, as a series I eally enjoyed it so I would still recommend. Enjoy!

In looking for your heritage do not turn to this book. Romance yes, country description, too long! Could have accomplished story in 1/2 pages.

I loved this trilogy for its peek into Ireland. I never get tired of reading this author and in me, she has won a life-long fan. In fact, I can't think of a single book I've read by Nora Roberts that left me feeling like I'd wasted my money, and many have become a permanent part of my library. I got hooked on her "In Death" series and now own all of the volumes; the characters keep me coming back for more, which is standard for a Nora Roberts book. If you want to be swept away to the land of mist and leprechauns, pick up this trilogy, fix yourself a snack, and prepare to be enchanted. I was!

I love this book. It is another great read by Nora Roberts. It takes you away and places you in Ireland. I like the fact all three books are in one read so I don't have to go out and buy one in the middle of the night.Once you start you won't be able to put this one down.

This was the first book of Nora Roberts that i read. It was an alright read. took some time to really get engrossed in the books especially book one. It took me awhile to start to like Maggie in book one but the rest of the books i liked alot.

Nora Roberts has a way with words that you can actually picture how beautiful Ireland is without ever having been there. You get to know her characters and anticipate how they will react to things. I absolutely loved that all three stories were contained in one book, and the story just flowed from one to the next without having to wait to buy the next book in the series.
