    Irish Famine

The Irish Famine was a book that was required reading for my Geography class. When I recieved the book, I was thankful for all the pictures : ) This book talks about the history of Ireland and the 'battles' between the Irish Catholic and the British. It also explains in great dteail of the importance of the potato in the Irish culture. Other things it includes is the Irish's emmigration, immigration, houses, schools, jobs, land, and every detail you don't even think about. If you like history and geography, this is a book you would greatly enjoy and appreciate. If you don't like repetition, then don't waste your time reading this book, However, the pictures kept be amused as I was reading the book!

    Irish Famine

I was assigned to read this book in my Geography Honors class last month, and at first I really thought it was going to be an interesting account of this event in history. As I continued to read the book, however, my opinion changed. This book is extremely repetitive on certain subjcets relating to the famine. If you are reading this book, you are better off paying more attention to the many captions under the pictures because they give some of the most interesting information in the whole book. All in all, this book wasn't too horrible, and if you have a great interest in the subject already, then this would be a great book for you.
