Meet the Author

I could regale you with a biography which would include snippets of my life. I could highlight for you over forty years of both accomplishments and failures. Well, maybe not failures. I’ve never read an ‘about the author’ that included falling out of a tree in their youth. I have no grandiose yarns to spin here. I am just a guy who has always wanted to be a writer. I have been writing off and on since the age of twelve. What I want to do more than anything is concentrate on delivering you, the reader, quality works. If I can do that, then I believe over time you will come to know more about me than you ever wanted to. Sincerely, Robert Shroud. robertshroud@hotmail.com

The story itself was moderately believable...but I had a really tough time with all the spelling and grammar mistakes. Found myself paying more attention to those than the actual plot.

A few grammatical errors throughout, but overall a good read. Would like to see a sequel with the main character. I would rate it 3.5 stars

Good story. Some typos but didn't distract from reading. Unexpected ending.

His career was his life, and Detective Reginald Williams was a dedicated cop. One shooting changed all that and he is spiraling into an abyss of depression, alcoholism and self-hatred. He lost his wife, his identity and he is barely holding on to his sanity. The only thing keeping him from imploding completely is the hunt for a vicious serial killer known as The Animal for his brutal methods. Prepare yourself to enter the gritty world of Robert Shroud’s . Fast-paced, dark and full of hardcore crimes, seeing the world through Reg’s eyes is a painful place to be as one man fights for the innocent, while feeling like he is fighting for his own existence. Will Reg gain back the life he lost? What of his wife, or will he discover that sometimes it is just too late. Robert Shroud has a strong voice, as he digs into his characters and pulls out their most realistic parts, breathing life and humanity into each one. A true crime/mystery that begs to read, cover to cover as we walk on the seedier side of life!

This was a fast paced mystery/crime novel. My head was spinning. From the very beginning to the very end you are sucked into the eyes and ears of Reg. His life becomes your life. His woes become your woes. Splendid novel. The pacing of this book is on point. That’s a make it or break it with this type of novel. It definitely fits in the make it category. My heart went out to Reg. Being a detective has to be a hard life. Not only do you witness horrible things but you are expected to be perfect at all times and to never ever mess up. Accidents happen though. And Reg does mess up. His wife leaving him tears him apart. This poor man has the worst run of luck. Very good story. Unlike the spelling, grammar and typo nazis on here that cannot read a book they have to grade a book, i overlooked the one typo. There was no grammar issues, the story was good, caught you up with an ending that surprised you. Would recommend. Ignore the grammar nazis. They think all books have to be written in precise queens english, i guess. I think they forget that ppl dont speak in proper english, and a good author will convey that in their writing.

I had to put it down several times because of the horrendous punctuation but I picked it up again. That says something. Robert could really use an editor! If the punctuation and odd usage of contractions doesn't get to you it's a pretty good book.
