Meet the Author

Ever since she was young, Kiki Howell loved to listen to a well-woven tale with real characters, inspired plots, and delightful resolutions. Kiki could spend hours lost in a book, and soon she knew that creating lives, loves, and losses with just words had to be the greatest thing that she could do.

To that end, she pursued her study of literature and writing, earning a bachelor’s degree in English. She then followed in a Master’s program in Creative Writing.

“After a long break having my boys, I finally just had to write again. And, as soon as I gave the stories the space, they entered it. It’s both awesome and humbling to find the words in my mind become characters on a page and create their lives.”

Kiki resides in the Midwest with her incredibly handsome and talented, singer/songwriter husband and two children. When she is not writing, she is spending time with her family, reading, baking or knitting.

    Loved it!

Aaron is a drifter. Kicked out by the age of fifteen for inheriting his father's powers, he's left to fend for himself and learn how to use his new found scorcery on his own. He's now a magical bodyguard and has been stationed to protect Myleana and the special box and grimoire she's working on, but what he doesn't expect is a set up, new found family ties, and to fall in love with a wizard.

Scorcerer's and Wizards are enemies yet there is a spark between Aaron and Myleana right from first sight that is too powerful to ignore. As they fight to be together and try to overcome the age old prejudice of their differences, they go through an amazing journey were love prevails.

I loved this read, and was shocked at how well I could relate to her hero Aaron's hardships. He struck a cord with me, and I loved that he finally got his happy ending no matter how untraditional. Once they stopped fighting it, the chemistry between Myleana and Aaron was amazing, with an added bonus of some scorching sex scenes in between. This book is a great read!

Full of Drama, Mystery and Love!

Love is the spell cast as Aaron, a Sorcerer and Myleana, a Wizard, are thrown together in an underground lab. Myleana, hired to open a magically protected box, and Aaron, hired to guard Myleana, fight to resist each others charms until they can't hold back any longer. As their romance heats up so does their job as they magical box opens when Aaron gets near.

Aarons past and future rests on this box, that is, if he and Myleana can survive long enough..

I was drawn right into the world and could feel the tension between Aaron and Myleana leaping off of the pages. Kiki Howell did a wonderful job of providing just enough detail to make the story come to life.

Even though there was drama and mystery in this book it was still a light read. It wasn't overly dark or drawn on. A quick book to get through and a good enough story for you to enjoy.

Aaron's story really tugged at my heart especially towards the end when he finally gets what he wants only to lose a piece of it.

If you're looking for a quick read full of drama, mystery, love and a few hot scenes.. pick this one up. It fits the bill!
