Overview

Finding the perfect dress can be hell… especially when a stranger tries to gun you down in broad daylight.

Void agent and magical baker extraordinaire, Willow Rhoswen has been anticipating her first date with Talisen Kavanagh since she was sixteen. After eight years of waiting, there are only two things that can stand in her way—an assassination attempt and a new game-changing drug.

Talisen’s invented a new elixir that creates superhumans, ones that can rival vampire strength, and everyone wants it. Including the vampires. With Willow’s life on the line, he makes a deal with the devil, while she’s forced to accept the always-strings-attached protection from the most notorious vampire organization in New Orleans.

But when Talisen and his drug go missing, Willow will stop at nothing to find him, even if it means working with her vampire-ex, David. With souped-up humans, dangerous vampires, and more questions than answers, Willow has less than twenty-four hours to find him before everything changes forever.

Willow and her friends are back and their mishaps provide some hours of joy and pleasure. Now, it seems everyone is after Tal's new drug that provides extra-strenght to humans and he even gets abducted.

Willow is starting a new romantic relationship with Talisen but David is too close to not think about him.

I confess I'm a fan of David and the betst part in this book, for me, was when David finally reveals the reasons for choosing his turn to vampire. I hope Willow will get back to him!

Disappointed. Well written, but really hate where the storyline went with this book. The main character ends up dumping the good guy for the self sacrificing vamp...Gee, why does that sound familiar. It's too bad because a fairy love story was new and exciting. Not sure if I'll be purchasing the next book.

Light, entertaining with enough adventure and romance to hold your interest

Fairies, witches and vampires make an interesting mix with New Orleans as an different location then alot of series. Some romance and suspense mixed in with spells and supernatural touches.

I really really really lobed this book! There was a lot of excitement and  surprising twists! Willow seems to get passed around to a lot of different people in this book, so you see a lot of different characters. Getting to know each of them more really added to the story and to the series. I was stunned quite a few times by surprises, which I love! Sometimes books an be predictable, but this one wasn't. I also love that the excitement started right at the beginning, and went all the way to the end of the book. Fantastic!

    I Also Recommend:

The second book in the Crescent City Fae series is an intriguing

The second book in the Crescent City Fae series is an intriguing and action packed magical read that keeps the reader entertained from beginning to end.
Magical baker extraordinaire and Void agent, Willow Rhoswen is dodging assassins and having to make deals and accept protection from the vampires when her boyfriend Talisen goes missing.  Talisen has invented a new drug that creates super humans and everyone wants it, including the vampires.
This fast paced smooth flowing plot engages the reader with lots of intrigue, action, romance, magic and strong compelling characters.  The author brings the story and the action to life with vivid images and intense details that has the reader feeling as if they are part of the story.
The chemistry romance between Tailsen and Willow and between Willow and David radiate heat from every page as they battle with bad guys and struggle with their emotions and relationships.  The author conveys the emotions with an intensity that makes it easy for the reader to easily relate to all the characters.
The author has created a bewitching paranormal world of charismatic characters, suspense and action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.  The suspense builds throughout the book with lots of twists and surprises that keep the reader guessing.
I have not read the first book in this series yet, but I will definitely be remedying that soon and looking for the next one.  I loved the diversity of the characters and the refreshingly unique elements mixed in with the interesting conflicts that the author has created. I couldn’t put the story down once I started it, but there were a couple of incidents in the battles that seemed a little unbelievable, but they were easily overlooked.

I really liked the first book in this series and was looking for

I really liked the first book in this series and was looking forward to this book, but I was very disappointed. Willow did not grow as a character at all. She still didn’t trust her friends, and constantly accused them of “keeping secrets” when most of the time they just weren’t telling her things that were none of her business. I also found myself annoyed with her insistence to include herself in every dangerous mission. She said herself multiple times that she has no combat training. Nor does she have a active form of magic that can be used in self-defense. Not to mention a severe allergy to Vampire’s and fragile wings. She wasn’t helpful she was in the way, and making it more dangerous for other’s. Throughout so much of the book I found her selfish and whinny.

But once again I loved the other characters. Phoebe her best friend is a hoot. Her dog/werewolf is adorable and scary. David is much more self sacrificing and loving than I thought. Eadric is complex and I look forward to more of his story and growth. I was very disappointed with Tal and where his story line went, he suddenly did a 180 and his behavior just seemed like an excuse for Willow to do certain things and remain a victim. I will read the next book in this series, I love this world. I just wish I liked the heroine more.

    Disappointed

I was loving the book until Willow ended up with her ex David. I loved her with Tal. I don't think I can read the next book knowing she will not be with Tal.
