CriticasPreS-Although this alphabet book includes some uncommon selections (see quintuplets for the Q entry), Howell finds 26 items that begin with the same letter in Spanish and English. Most of the entries represent the accessible and functional vocabulary of a young child. Native speakers and students of both languages will delight in the large, watercolor illustrations that complement each alphabetically ordered word. Inexplicably, the author chooses to include n, leaving out ch and ll, as the one letter present in Spanish and not English. Parents and children will enjoy practicing their native language and learning another with this attractive board book.
