Is God Real and Does It Even Matter?
Do any of these questions sound familiar? • While the advancements in science and technology are accomplishing so much good, why is our behavior toward one another getting worse? • Why is honesty rarely celebrated anymore while dishonesty can get a person both fame and promotion? • Why does wealth come so easily to some people while others who work as hard or harder always struggle to make ends meet? • Why are some people free of addictions--even the temptation--while others always seem to be living in some sort of bondage? When we begin to verbalize the 'Why?' questions of life, more often than not it is a reflection of a more basic question, "Why me?" When life gets difficult, when unforeseen adversity throws us off course and calamity and/or chaos ensues, our inclination is to take on an apathetic, sarcastic, or even a destructive attitude toward our existence and the purpose of life itself. To counter this impulse, one must be willing to consider questions such as these in a completely different light. Author and teacher, Rick Furmanek believes all life's moments, both good and bad, happen for a purpose and should drive us back to the most fundamental of questions . . . Is anyone in control? In an effort to counter the current cultural mindset, Rick offers a reality check on life, knowing that the pursuit of answers to the "Why me?" questions can only be properly understood through the story God wants to tell us.
