Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Isa Chandra Moskowitz (Veganomicon) might have started out as a vegan with a vengeance, but she has mellowed. The 150 meat-free recipes in Isa Does It are supermarket-friendly, many of them specifically concocted or vegans with busy, hectic lives. That doesn't mean that she skimps on flavor; the meals offerings include yummies like Summer Seitan Sauté with Cilantro and Lime; Bistro Beet Burgers; and Eggplant and Black Eyed Pea Curry. A cookbook with a soul.

    Great Cookbook!!!!

Love this cookbook. The New England Glam Chowder is absolutely delicious and if you follow all the instructions including the Nori ingredient it taste as good or better than any chowder I've tasted and I lived in Maine for 14 years. I also loved her Tofu Mushroom Stroganoff and the Bistro Beet Burgers. I have many pages marked with yellow stickers to try. Buy this book you will not be sorry. I am plant based and oil free but I just drop the oil in recipes and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Isa really does do it right!

Do not order the Nook version of this book. It cannot be read with a Nook app since each page is essentially a picture. It will crash your Nook app.

    Not good for a Nook

This book is almost impossible to read on a Nook. With its trendy font and colors behind the text, you have to blow up the text so much to read it that it is difficult to read enough of the recipe to get the gist of it. I recommend you get this book in hard copy and skip the Nook version.

I haven't even bought this cookbook yet, but just from reading some of it in the bookstore had me sold!  I've been wanting to go vegan for some time, but no book really helps you.  They just give you recipes.  Isa's book actually gives you tips and pointers and advice, and that's what I need!  I already know I'm going to love it!  I'm going to be a huge fan!

The recipes contained in here are wonderful! My first try was the falafel burger and it tasted comparable to the falafel one gets in Israel. It's nice to have a cookbook with personality and humor as well. It adds a layer of excitement and coziness to the recipes. If your vegan or not, this book is a treasure.

    Very fun and readable.

It's hard to resist this book. It is full of lots of well explained recipes that a non-vegan can understand. If you are thinking about adding some vegan to your life, this is the book.
