Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Naomi Butler
What great adventures await Isabel? Isabel's sister Elena Maria is turning 15, and the Martinez family is planning her quinceanera—at Uncle Hector's ranch in San Antonio! You would think that no one has turned 15 before; it was like Isabel was invisible—or so she thought. But everything in San Antonio is awesome, and there is so much to do and see. Her cousin, Ricardo, seems annoying to her but the visit with the mixture of relatives and friend turns out wonderfully. For both Elena Maria, whose life is being blessed into womanhood, and for Maria, who is having great adventures in San Antonio, it is a delight. It is a story of life, family and friends, relationships—and growing up. They realize that one should take advantage of experiences and of places one visits. It is a good book for any young person to read about this culture, and the cultural information is embedded in a good story. It is a Special Adventure of the "Beacon Street Girls" series. Meet the Author

The Beacon Street Girls books are inspired by all the preteen girls I've ever known. I wanted to create a world where girls can go to have fun and learn about who they are, while modeling real-life experiences. The first book, Worst Enemies/Best Friends, explores creating and testing friendships, skewed first impressions, and being the new kid at school. In the end, true friendship conquers all. Welcome to the world of the BSG!

This is HILARIOUS!!! A brunette, a redhead and a blonde were going to be executed for crime. The brunette went first. "Any last words?" The executer asked. She had none. "Ready, aim..." he started. "TORNADO!" The brunette yelled. Everyone was startled. She managed to escape. The redhead went second. "Any last words?" The executer asked. She had none. "Ready, aim..." he started. "EARTHQUAKE!" yelled the redhead. Everyone was startled. She managed to escape. The blonde went last. By this time, she had figured out what her sisters had done. "Any last words?" The executer asked. She had none. "Ready, aim..." he started. "FIRR!" The blonde shouted.
