Excellent Background in Understanding Today's Failure's with Iran

I read this to obtain background on the current state of affairs with Islamic fundamentalism. The fact that the author is Muslim was a draw--I've read several from the Western perspective and wanted one from the other side. I found the book well-researched with considerable data to support its premise-that Islamic fundamentalism is the threat of the 21st century. Mohaddessin uses primary source documents, historic information, and builds on a long history of Islamic dogma. I was pleased that he took pains to separate this faction--deadly as it is--from the peace-loving people who comprise the majority of Islam. Unfortunately, like the Crusades, their religion has been hijacked.

It's interesting to read the West's efforts over twenty years to find solutions--compromise, negotiation, conversation. These are all seen by this enemy as signs of weakness. Having read this book, I can see that now in our current situation in Iraq and our negotiations with Iran to prevent the rise of another nuclear nation. I wish he'd offered solutions. What they'd be, I have no idea.
