All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
Bobby Sherwood, a multi-instrumentalist best known for his trumpet playing and work as a rhythm guitarist, reluctantly led a big band during 1942-1948 after he had a surprise hit record in "The Elks' Parade." The band did not have many major names at all, but the ensemble sound was quite appealing, the musicians swung, and the arrangements were excellent. Highly recommended.
