Popular Gossip Girl character Jenny Humphrey is leaving Constance Billard to attend Waverly Academy, an elite boarding school in New York horse country where glamorous rich kids don't let the rules get in the way of an excellent time.
Determined to leave her Manhattan past behind her, Jenny sets off to Waverly with big plans of reinventing herself. She'll be a goddess—she's a sophisticated city girl, after all!—and will find a boy who can properly worship her. But that's going to be a little tricky since her self-absorbed new roommates, Callie Vernon and Brett Messerschmidt, aren't exactly there to help—unless there's something in it for them.
Hot guys, new intrigue, and more delicious gossip all add up to more trouble than ever for Jenny. But if getting caught with boys and going up against the Disciplinary Committee is what it takes, Jenny's ready. She'll do all that and more to be The It Girl.

This book has way too much swear words! This book also mentions sex way too much! This book would be safer for teenagers 15 years old and up who know what the word sex means. Mikaela Arsenault Salem, NH.

I loved this book and am now reading the second one. I think that this book is a good read. I think this because altough you might nit relate to it the book still keeps you entertained and engaged. This book is very detailed and even when you think it cant get in better it gets even better. The author cecily von ziegesar makes sure that you know whats happening at all times. I loved this book because it was a little funny and it was enteraining and dazziling with excietment and breathtaking. I really really hope that you read this book THE IT GIRL and its series to see what happens with jenny, callie, and brett.

I really liked the book. Jenny starts becoming more sophisticated than she was in the past. Callie and Brett don't know why Tinsley was expelled last year. When Callie and her BFF's (excluding Brett) try to make Jenny look bad during a cheer, Jenny acts as if it doesn't bother her. Turns out that Brett starts dating a Mr. Dalton. By the end of the story, we find out that Tinsley will be returning to Waverly.

I recommend it to students who are older. The content isn't the best for younger kids though. This book is such a good book, i read the whole series! The it girl is about a girl who transfers to a new school. She gets caught up in all the action some what and people really start to notice her. In the book, they have emails between the kids and it's very funny. If you are ready to laugh out loud and a girl, you will totally enjoy this book!

I thought that The It Girl was a cute little 'not having to think about the plot' book. It was sweet, and charming, but it was simple--or so it seems. I really enjoyed reading about it, but I was somewhat puzzled at the beginning, not realizing that I had to make the connection with the Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl to the new and improved Jenny Humphrey.

The It Girl is such a good novel the setting Waverly was perfect. I felt like I was right there next to these girls and Jenny, Callie, and Brett where my best friends. The way the Cecily Von Ziegesar described the character makes it seem like you really know what they look like and their lives. All the conflicts that they went through were go nerve racking and the outcomes always turned out good. I would recommend this book to any girl who loves girly books and loves to read. I really enjoyed it and I hope you do to. Also, I would say this if you like drama then this is defiantly the book for you. ENJOY!

Have you ever wished of going to a boarding school? Leaving your old boring life behind, to start fresh? Well in that case young Jenny Humphrey does just that. Little Jenny Humphrey is a soon to be sophomore at Waverly Academy, a boarding school. This book It Girl is a series by Cecily von Ziegesar, the It Girl series is a series off of the Gossip Girl series. But Jenny's life before Waverly wasn't what exactly she drempt of. Jenny use to go to Constance Billard with the whole Gossip Girl gang. But, she was kicked out because of her behavior and rumors that spread around the school. So, she applied for an art scholarship to Waverly Academy. Once Jenny arrived she went through some strange and difficult times. She meet her two new roommates Callie and Brett, while also meeting campus hotties, Health and Easy. But, at Waverly her ultimate goal was to be the ¿new¿ Jenny and soon to become the it girl. I really enjoyed this book it's a great start to the series. Ziegesar's writing style is very descriptive, a lot like the Gossip Girl series. Also a different writing technique is that there is instant messaging going on every few chapters. Which I think makes this series different then the others. You have to read this book before you continue to read the rest of the It Girl series, such as Notorious (2nd book). I would recommend this book/ series to young teens who read and liked the Gossip Girl series. I definitely enjoyed this book It Girl because, it's fun, mysterious, and definitely keeps you guessing. The ending to this book is great and when/if you read this book you better have that second book handy. Then you can continue to read. But, the big question is does Callie really come back, and does Jenny get kicked out?

Jenny Humphrey has a dorky personality and is very well endowed, which was getting her into a lot of trouble back in New York, so she decides to begin her sophomore year in high school at Waverly. She decides to change the way she acts, she matures a lot but the ¿old jenny¿ is still in her sometimes. Jenny arrives at the school and is finally placed in her room with new roommates, Callie and Brett best friends until they believed that one another was the reason for their old best friend Tinsley¿s expulsion. Jenny starts off her year getting into a heap of trouble, but for once it wasn¿t her fault. When Callie leaves her boyfriend Easy in her bedroom a teacher catches them and now they both must attend a hearing to determine their punishments. Callie takes no blame and Leaves Jenny with the fall. Bribing Jenny with materialistic luxuries. Jenny joins varsity field hockey and being the newby, is the leader of a sort of initiation cheer that is meant to embarrass the newest girl in front of the whole school, but with Callie being the field hockey captain and her trying to stay on Jenny¿s good side, she thinks really hard about what this might do. But unpredictable Jenny switches things up. Relations spark between the most unexpected couples and the most talked about hook ups happen at this under cover party school Waverly.
