I have been studying Italian for seven months, with formal private lessons with an Italian tutor, various workbooks, and membership in many Italian conversation practice groups in NYC. This book is by far my favorite - with its serial story weaving through each chapter, along with related sections on vocabulary, grammar, Italian tonguetwisters for pronunciation, proverbs, and other Italian cultural notes. A most welcome addition to a beginner student's exercise books. I've completed through Chapter 27, and can say "Finalmente!" to the sweet storyline of il signor Campi e la sua insegnante privata, la signora Ricca. It's a joy to be reading a story in Italian at such an early stage of Italian language studies. Che divertente!

As a senior taking Italian once a week, I like to have work-on-your-own material to keep the brain interested. One of the best reasons I think this is the best workbook is because it has a good story line in the readings that continues from one chapter to the next. As well, it clearly explains grammar, vocabulary, idioms, etc.

I am so frustrated that I am still waiting for this book to come out. The date of release has been changed three times since I have pre-ordered it. Have been waiting well over 7 months to see the date has changed again. Seriously. Has the Italian language changed so much in the last year that updates to the book continue to be necessary?

Outstanding! The best way to learn italian. The lessons come with new words every time so that your your not cramming a bunch down your throat at once. Great!
