Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
The authors have compiled an in-depth guide to Italian red wines of ``personality and character.'' A wealth of detail is balanced by a personal touch; the Wassermans relate anecdotes of winemakers and include their tasting notes. A brief introduction is followed by a text organized by grape variety, with geographical subdivisions. Only those varieties producing quality wines are included. The producers and vintages of each area are discussed and rated. While such ratings are to some degree subjective, this work will appeal to those interested specifically in Italian wine.
