    It's a Beautiful Album

I agree with the All Music Guide base review and would emphasize that this is an especially appealing album for those fans of harmonization. The first four songs are especially appealing - both the vocals and the instrumentals are first rate - I would strongly recommend this for your collection. Another option, a live album that (dare I say this) was once available on 8-Track no less ! It would be a good one to acquire if it exists on CD now.

A DATED PIECE OF HIPPIE IDEALISM...

THIS ALBUM ONLY WORKS IN THAT SHORT-LIVED UTOPIA CALLED THE SUMMER OF LOVE. IN FACT, IT'S ALMOST LAUGHABLE BY TODAY'S STANDARDS. THIS BY NO MEANS IMPLIES THAT IT IS NOT A GOOD LISTEN...IT IS...BETTER THAN IRON BUTTERFLY'S "INNA-GADA-DA-VIDA"...BUT NO WHERE NEAR AS GROUNDBREAKING AS LOVE'S "FOREVER CHANGES" OR DEVELOPED AS THE ZOMBIES' "ODYESSEY AND ORACLE"...THE COVER IS ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME THOUGH...IT'S SIMPLICITY SPEAKS VOLUMES. I HONESTLY BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE OF THE ARTWORK, THAT IT REMAINS A SOUGHT AFTER ITEM FOR VINYL COLLECTORS...

A Classic Album From The Good Old Days

How much do they want for it??? To think I just gave this album away along with all the rest of my old LPs. You can't beat records, folks. CDs are ok and cassettes ain't bad, but you simply can't beat a new LP for that crisp clarity and richness of sound. Unfortunately, too many of the old classics don't transfer over to the new technology of CDs. For some reason, big chunks of the original sound is either muted or completely lost. Hope that's not the case on "It's A Beautiful Day." Memories of flying high on lebanese blond hashish while listening to records like this and being hypnotically transfixed on the flame of my lantern, flickering amid the psychedelic decor of my personal den of iniquity. Ah, the good old days, when you could still dream, when there weren't nearly so many mugs, and when it was cool to give a big FU to the workaday world. How I miss being young.

    One of the best!

I wore out my vynyl copy in the late 60's. I agree that ''White Bird'' while being a good track and marketable, pales next to the rest of this exquisite piece of work.

    My all time favorite

Still have two original vinyls (played to death). Bought the CD about two years ago and to this day when I listen to it, I play it again ..and again..and again.

    5 Stars not Adequate

It's A Beautiful Day warrants more than 5 Stars. CD is phenomenal from beginning to end and the more you play it the more you will want to play it (multiple copies required). The first time you listen to this CD have quiet and zero distractions, sit back an let David La Flamme and friends take you over.

    Best of The Best

This is one of the best total CD I have every herd. Most people have herd White Bird but most of the other tracks are better.

    Psycedelic flashback

If you like or want to become familiar with late 60's early 70's heavy psycedelic music, this is one of the best. If you can't abide that style, move on; this ones not for you. Lots of bass (a real lot), lots of keyboards and who knows what else all mixed together to simulate that drug induced perspective. Turn on the black light, fire up the lava lamp, roll a joint, order a pepperoni pizza and be ready to have ''your mind blown'' as the saying goes. White Bird is the most well know track and it is still played on the radio once in a while. The words from Time ''but for those who really love... time is eternity'' actually showed up during Lady Di's funeral. Far out, man!
