Chapter One

"Buzzzz, Buzzzz, Buzzzz", sounded the alarm. "Oh no, we're late!", Bella's Daddy shouted as he ran into her room. "Wake up Bella, wake up!" "We are late!" Startled by the shouting, Bella sat up, rubbed her eyes, stretched her arms and stumbled out of bed.

"Where are we going?" she asked, sleepily.

"Mommy is flying home today, remember?" he answered. Bella went from sleepy to wide awake and full of excitement. "Is it a Mommy day?" she asked. "Yes Bella, it's a Mommy day". We need to get going for the airport, we have a long trip ahead. While Bella was dressing, her Daddy dashed into the kitchen, grabbed some warm toast, a juice box, some hot coffee and off they went.

As they arrived at the airport, Bella could tell it was going to be a busy morning. Cars, taxis and buses lined the streets. There were people everywhere, zooming in and out.

Once inside, Bella could hear the familiar sounds of rolling luggage wheels and ringing cell phones. As they approached her mother's gate, the sounds of propellers outside the window became louder and louder.

"Daddy, where is she?" Bella asked with anticipation. "She should be here any minute", he said.

As the crowds of people slim down and the luggage is cleared from sight, Bella sees her.

"Mommy!", Bella shouts running to greet her.

Her Mommy quickly swoops her up in her arms and spins Bella around with a great big hug! "I missed you Bella!"

"I missed you too Mommy!" Bella replied. "Were you a good girl for Daddy while I was away?" "Yes, but is it a Mommy day?" Bella was quick to ask, just to be sure. Her Mommy laughed and replied, "Yes, it's a Mommy day!"

When they arrived home, Bella helped her Mommy bring her luggage into the house. "Bella, would you like to go to the park for lunch today?" she asked. As Bella's tummy rumbled, she eagerly said, "Yes!".

Bella jumped over the luggage on the floor and ran for the kitchen. Together, they began to pack their favorites; peanut butter and banana sandwiches, grapes, a granola bar and juice. A few minutes later, they jumped on their bicycles and headed for the park. They waived to Daddy as they left.
