Teenager Emma Sleeth has a heart for God and preserving His precious planet, sharing this passion with her fellow generation in It's Easy Being Green.

Sleeth uses biblical knowledge and principles to show how it's easy to take little steps to better preserve our planet. The book is broken down into chapters, each discussing a different topic, but also has a splattering of random tidbits and eay-to-do facts throughout.

At the end, there's an appendix with applicable Bible quotes, other books and resources, as well as organizations to consider. No matter your political agenda, readers receive a healthy 'green' perspective on how to best tend God's garden.

Sleeth, now an Asbury College student, is a precocious advocate for environmental issues. She wrote this book when she was just 15. (And, no, she wasn't homeschooled, if that's what you're wondering.) She shares her passion for Jesus and for saving the planet, in roughly that order. Although the book is clearly aimed at teen and young adult readers, Sleeth is skillful enough at sermon illustrations that her anecdotes about babysitting, high school cliques and Mom's homemade meals help illuminate her points for older readers as well.     Ummm

    If your a true christian and you read the bible then you know that global warming is a hoax. God will come back. Its says so in revelation. Im all for being good tothe earth and eco friendly but i do it to honor God, not to save the world.

    A Challenge to thing globally

    This book was written for teen-agers in the voice of a teen-ager who makes is very clear from the beginning that our North American life style is having an unfortunate affect on young people in other parts of the world where pollution and other kinds of environmental contamination are causes for illness and poverty. The author writes in a ¿cheerful and chatty¿ manner with lots of personal illustrations related to the various topics as presented in each chapter, but the underlying message is very serious. Many practical suggestions are given in each chapter for ¿doing something¿ to make a difference. I would recommend that church libraries any where add this book to their shelves, and that either book would be good material for small group or Sunday school discussion material.

    Encouraged to live GREEN!

    This thoroughly delightful book for young people will encourage anyone who reads it to take steps in the direction of caring for the environment. Well organized, easy to read and packed with suggestions for students! Each chapter discusses a different subject of conservation and there are lots of decorated ¿boxes¿ giving hints along the way. A helpful, engaging read for anyone!

    Emma Sleeth's book has dozens of practical ideas that you can put to use right away. I've already turned my refrigerator and freezer temperatures up, unplugged all unnecessary appliances, and started washing my clothes in cold water instead of warm or hot. Every little bit helps.     Green Food for Thought

    I couldn't set this down until I finished it! Then I immediately passed it along to more readers! I am, however, looking forward to going back and reading it again and applying all the great practical tips to my life. It¿s Easy Being Green is thoughtful, practical, amusing, heartwarming, and sure to make a real difference in each reader¿s life! My advice: order this, read this, start quoting this! Keep serving God and saving the planet!

    Kermit would be proud

    A must read for anyone under 50. Ms Sleeth's book is filled with ideas that are practical and easy enough to do. Green is just the thing these days and not a minute too soon. She writes in a conversational tone and this book can be read by anyone interested in being a good caretaker of earth. What a good book. Thanks ms sleeth

    Green Guide Gives Meaning Behind Mania

    Green things are not only growing outside, they are appearing on store shelves and in advertisements across America. In my search to find a meaning behind all this mania, I have read several books and learned a lot about caring for creation. What's great about this student's guide to serving God and saving the planet is that it is more than a mere handbook. I have found both Ms. Sleeth's personal story and her helpful tips to be an aid to my understanding of both 'going green' and the role of my faith in this process.

    It IS easy being green!

    During my reading of the first chapter I was stirred to start doing more for our environment. The author not only educates us on the issues but provides practical ways for us to address those issues. In one week our household has turned around our impact on the world God created for us to enjoy. Ms Sleeth¿s writing is warm and appealing to all ages. This book is one that I will definitely be giving copies to others and teaching to my children. We CAN make a difference!
