RawSistaz.com - RAWSistaz Reviewers
Shawneda Marks has penned a book full of suspense and tension. Every time you think it's all going to be okay, another secret unfolds. It is a book of understanding and forgiveness, combined with `do the right thing'. It shows how God works in our lives for the best. I would highly recommend this book as a very good and helpful story.

    Good Story, but ....

I really enjoyed the story and the characters were good, but this book would have benefited greatly from a good copy editor. The plentiful spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors made for a somewhat difficult read, even though the story itself is a good one.

My Blood was boiling - You should check it out!

After reading the first page I was hooked. I found the book to be a great read it was entertaining as well as an eye opener to real life issues. It was a wonderful christian fiction that wasnt boring or preachy. I like the fact that it dealt with life situation that people have either experience or know of someone who has.

    UNBELIEVABLE!

From start to finish she had me captured...I was enthralled into this story like I was HER! The author took you for a ride, she put you in the car, she shut the door, put on the music, allowed you to sit back and take a ride with her on a journey so adventurous words cannot express. This story is phenomenal...

    Great Story

I enjoyed this book, because it points out the much needed awareness of HIV as opposed to AIDS.

    Great Read!

Awesome "Spiritual Message." The book is long around 800 pages. I read it in 2 1/2 days. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I can't wait to read Part II which will come out in 2011.

    Good Read

In addition to dealing with the heartbreak and stigma of HIV, Ms. Marks weaves a story of intrigue and tension and finally victory as the character interaction deepens and problems intensify. The story illustrates that not everyone who claims to belong to Christ is a true Christian, and that evil can flourish even within the church. The contrast between the Christ-like humility of John, the father, and the pharisaical arrogance of Naomi, the mother, and their influence on Rosalyn as she struggles to heal her wounded soul and find her way back to Christ, demonstrates the impact we have on others by our words and attitudes.
The major problem I found with the book was the numerous gramatical errors and occassional inconsistencies in context that were distracting and at times made it difficult to follow.
Overall I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to reading the sequel, but a good proof reading and editing will greatly help this book.

    Good Read But...

This was a very good story and I enjoyed it. The issue that I had was that there were so many grammatical errors...as if the book never got proofread. And also, the author kind of forgot what she wrote. In one point of the book she said that the character's chair was pulled out for her, but a few paragraphs later the same character leaned back against the booth. That was something else that should have gotten caught during proofreading. Overall, though, the story was good...just a little distracting with the errors.
