Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
It is the week of Halloween, so maybe the girl who is walking down the street dressed in Pilgrim attire is just celebrating a little bit early. Maybe not. This adventure will bring children into the life of Zachariah (his friends call him Zach). He is a fifth grade student at Horace Hyde-White School for Boys in New York. He goes to school in the 21st Century. In this book, Zach fights a magistrate who is about to take Prudence (the girl dressed in the Pilgrim attire) back to her own time, and in so doing he will discover a secret about the magistrate and end up being thrown in jail-in the 1600s. This supernatural adventure will captivate the imagination of young children. The book (and the entire series of the Zach Files) will be a welcome addition to any classroom or home library. These adventure books put a fun twist on classic stories and historical events, and this one is here just in time for Halloween. Part of "The Zack Files" series. 2003, Grosset & Dunlap, Ages 8 to 12.
