As a Health & Fitness Professional, I really enjoyed this book

Mendelsohn's blunt honesty about her own battle with an eating disorder provides the reader with significant insight into both the personal hell an ED can cause, and, more importantly, the work and 'elbow grease' one must put in to overcome it. Nothing sugar coated here: highly reccomended for anyone suffering from an eating disorder or for any healthcare professional involved in the care of those suffering from an eating disorder.

    Get Ready To Soar!!!

Dr. Susie's book is amazing. It's different from the rest of the eating disorder books in a way that you feel as if she is sitting there the whole time with you, holding your hand while you are reading it. You can feel her passion, and compassion in her words, in every single one, from the very first page. Dr. Susie also lets us into her haunting past... which is another reason we feel so connected to her, because she's been there... she understands. Her book is all about helping people to NOT go where she's been, into the darkest depths of ed's hell. She wants to help people soar, spread their wings and fly the highest they can go!!! After reading this, you KNOW it's possible!!! I never knew it was possible until I read Dr. Susie's words!!! I was at the bottom of the pit before I read this... and now i'm soaring!!! You can too!!! Dr. Susie's book is an all around delightful read, you experience every emotion when reading it. The parts about her life when she was chained to ed... it is very heartbreaking, so sad...but the good thing is, she overcame ALL of it, and look who she is today!!! Shes beautiful, successful, and happy!!! That's why this book is so empowering!!! If she can do it, so can we!!! Her humor in this book is fantastic. It's very unique, a one of a kind 'Dr. Susie' humor. You can't find anyone else with this special heartwarming gift!!! This book should be read by ALL who are affected by eds. You will see that Dr. Susie will do whatever she can to help us from ending up in ed's chains!!! Go ahead, read it... I promise you'll feel like a new person after you have!!! I know I do... I AM a new person!!! I am Transformed, I am empowered, and NOW i'm soaring!!! Thank you Dr. Susie!!!

    Finally - I get it!

As a father of a teenage boy I didn't understand 'ED' and always thought it was something that happened to young women and teenage girls. Thank-you Dr. Mendelsohn for painting a picture that helps Dad understand what his son is going through.

    A wonderful insight!

I have suffered with ED for 8 long years and never have I felt like anyone truly understood what I was going through. Dr. Susie does an amazing job of relating to the reader not only through her own experiences with ED, but through the minds of many other ED suffers. She truly gets it and knows how destructive ED is. I not only enjoyed reading this book, but I embraced every word. This book is not only for the ED suffer, but for the family, friends, and loved ones of an ED suffer. Way to go Dr. Susie! You helped me in more ways than you can imagine!
