Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Amy Peel
Itty and Bitty are based on real life miniature horses who truly live on Steele Away Farm in Argyle, Texas. Author Nancy Carpenter Czerw playfully uses rhymes to describe life on a busy farm and the trouble the two horses sometimes get into. Itty and Bitty spend their days playing hide and seek and chasing their barnyard friends. At dinnertime though, they always remember their manners and think it is best to be polite. Although they may sometimes annoy their friends, they also know how to be helpful around the barn. Children will fall in love with the beautiful watercolor pictures of these self-proclaimed "mini-mascots." All the animals in this story are also members of this real life Texas farm who are featured on the back of the book. Those who enjoy this book can also read the first story in the "Itty and Bitty" series. This early reader can be used to discuss how being small does not mean you are not important to others, just as Itty and Bitty prove their worth to their barnyard friends.
