About the Author

RICHARD ZOUCH (1590-1661) was a lawyer, writer, judge, and member of Parliament who was born to educated parents in Wiltshire, England. After he received his Bachelor of Civil Law degree from Oxford University, he became a Fellow and Regius Professor there. While maintaining a successful legal practice in London, he was also a prolific, published author, most noted for his writing about international law.
