For I've Always Wanted to Sing Not Just Write Songs, his follow-up LP to his hit Let Me Party With You album, Bunny Sigler had a bigger production budget to work with. There are strings and orchestrated horns laced throughout the release. Yet it was the more sparser tracks that got the most attention. The first single, the funky, disco-ish "By the Way You Dance I Know It Was You," cracked the R&B Top 40. The double entendre-filled "I'm Funkin' You Tonight With My Music" made the album a favorite among funk fans and club goers.
