Overview

The current worldwide appreciation of ukulele music can easily be traced to one man, Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole. Israel's music conveys joy and hope and is loved the world over. When writing the book From the Corner of His Eye, author Dean Koontz found inspiration in Iz's music, stating, "I hope that the reader finds pleasure in my story equal to the joy and consolation that I found in the voice, the spirit, and the heart of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole." Tragically, Iz passed away at the age of 38 in 1997. The state flag of Hawaii was flown at half mast as he lay in state at the Hawaiian capitol building. He was the third person in Hawaiian history to be bestowed this honor. Ten thousand people attended his funeral and thousands gathered to witness as his ashes were scattered at Makua Beach. This songbook contains 13 songs transcribed for ukulele exactly as Iz performed them.

    ∩ PhoenixClan Announcement Meeting ∩

HawkStar jumped onto the HighLedge and called his cats of PhoenixClan. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the HighLedge for an important clan meeting." He looks at the cats below him. "I, HawkStar, Leader of PhoenixClan have a few announments to make. First we have two new Apprenrices." He turns to Lynx and Midnight. "Lynx, please step forward. You are in need of a mentor. From this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, you shall be known as LynxPaw. LynxPaw, you mentor will be I, HawkStar. I will teach you the skills of honesty and eagerness. I hope you respect my choice." He touched noses with LynxPaw and continues. "Midnight, please step forward. You, like LynxPaw, are in need of a mentor. From this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, you shall be known as MidnightPaw. MidnightPaw, you mentor will be SwiftWing. SwiftWing, teach him your bravery and loyalty. We honour you." He waits for MidnightPaw and SwiftWing to touch noses before continuing. "We have an overdue Deputy ceremony." He flicked his tail and turned to SwiftWing. "By the power of our ancestors in StarClan, I, HawkStar, pronounce SwiftWing as PhoenixClan's Deputy. She has shown courage and great character. May StarClan approve of my choice." He gently tapped her shoulder with the end of his banner before moving on. "I wish to make this clan flourise to it's full potential. I can't do that without the help of everyone in this clan. Everyone should post at least one ad a day and stay active." He smiled at the new Deputy and new Apprentices before nodding and dipping his head. "Thank you all for your patience and time. Meeting dismissed." He meowed before jumping down.

Sample won't even open on Nook Color. Don't want to purchase full copy if I can't get it to open.
