~~~~~
Izzy is a clumsy young prehistoric bird still trying to figure out the whole flying thing. She grows tired of the other archaeopteryxes laughing at her, and decides to go practice near the caves where the people live. The people laugh at first too, but soon they notice that each of Izzy's failed flights leads to a wonderful new invention or discovery.
Cave paintings, fire, even the wheel—all are results of Izzy's clumsiness coupled with her determination to fly. Will Izzy ever learn to fly like the other birds, or will she decide it's okay to be different?
There’s only one way to find out: join Izzy in her prehistoric adventure in this edition of the color-illustrated "Bird Brain Books" series for children 4-8 years old.
Meet the Author
From an early age, Emlyn Chand has counted books among her best friends. She loves to hear and tell stories and emerged from the womb with a fountain pen grasped firmly in her left hand (true story). Her affinity for the written word extends to absolutely every area of her life: she has published three novels and seven children’s books with plans for many more of each, leads a classics book group with almost five-hundred members, and, of course, runs the whole shebang at Novel Publicity.
The book that changed Emlyn’s life was "Harold and the Purple Crayon" by Crocket Johnson. It opened her eyes to the world that could exist if only she was willing to create it—a lesson she has never forgotten. While she enjoys all types of novels, her greatest loves are literary fiction and YA. She’s best known for her "Farsighted" series and is developing a slow but steady following for the "Bird Brain Books." She’s eager to see how her New Adult/Women’s Fiction novel, "Torn Together," will be received by the reading masses.
She enjoys connecting with readers and is available throughout the social media Internet world. A good place to start is her website at www.EmlynChand.com.
Don’t forget to say “hi” to her sun conure Ducky!
    Izzy is my newest character friend that I love! Chand has crafted a delightful story that is so fun to read, and thrilling that I wanted more. I mean that, I want more Izzy books. The character is so sweet and smart you cannot help but fall in love with her. One of the many fine Bird Brain series this ranks as my favorite, with Courtney Saves Christmas (A Bird Brain Book) coming in a very close second.
    Please parents buy this book, read this to your young ones and enjoy this treasure. I would also highly recommend this series as a whole to all libraries in the USA, and everywhere. These books are meant to be shared and loved by kids of all ages, and bird lovers alike.
