Awful customer service...I ordered this subscription for my friend's child in December of 2016. As of today, 2/2/17, the child still has not received her first issue. Think twice before doing business with this publication.
This review is about the September/October 2014 issue. All I can say is Christian parents beware: The article entitled: Adventures in Ghost Hunting, while mildly interesting, packs a punch at the end on p15. On this page the ghost hunter details the "tools" of his trade. I had no objection to the ones that "monitor" auditory and visual happenings. But he lists something called a "Spirit box" which "attempts to communicate with spirits using radio frequencies"! Talk about TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE and dangerous information to be giving 8-12 year old children. The Bible specifically teaches against trying to contact spirits and here this magazine is treating that as if it were an everyday acceptable thing to do! I am disgusted by this Jack and Jill issue. There is a way to have a Halloween issue that is fun and entertaining without delving into topics that invade possible belief systems of impressionable children. And on top of that when I called the magazine, they were unable to give me number to talk to someone about the magazine's content. He just "took down my complaint" and said they would not be able to respond to my concerns. I for one will not be renewing my son's subscription.
