Overview

Jacko:His Rise and Fall is a detailed, well-crafted biography of Michael Jackson's rise to fame and his collapse of power.
Dripping with ironies, JACKO connects the myriad dots that Michael Jackson has "tattooed" into the world's consciousness. The first comprehensive and all-inclusive biography ever written about the world's most bizarre superstar, this powerful tome startles the reader with new revelations and photos about the Wizard of Odd.
"The King of Pop", Michael Jackson has been one of the most popular and controversial figure in the later part of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century. During his heyday in the 1980's, MJ generated fame greater than many of the world's leading political and religious figures, including the President of the U.S. Here is the complete story of Michael's successful music career and his troubled personal life. Jacko unlocks the doors and looks inside of his rocky childhood; rise to superstar status; the many controversial business deals; the unprecedented tabloid stories; personal scandals; family squabbles; sibling "tattle-telling" from Janet, LaToya and Germaine; the infamous court battles and lawsuits; his pending bankruptcy; the personal and alleged child abuse; and finally, his relationships with the Hollywood elite, like Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, and many, many more others.

A new biography of Michael Jackson contains stories that are eyebrow-raising even for his weird life.

Books To Watch Out For
I'd have thought that there wasn't one single gossipy rock yet to be overturned in the microscopically scrutinized life of Michael Jackson. But Darwin Porter's exhaustive (but always zippy) hybrid of celebrity bio and solid reporting proves me quite wrong. It's all here: The abuse Jackson suffered as a boy from the fists of his father; rough early years on the "chitlin' circuit"; his rocky relationship with Diana Ross and his quirky relationship with Liz Taylor; his sham marriages and his oddly conceived three children; unflagging rumors of his homosexuality; and his scandalous affection for generations of adolescent boys. Definitely a page-turner. But don't turn the pages too quickly: Almost every one holds a fascinating revelation.

Meet the Author

Darwin Porter is also known for his authorship, in 2006, of Brando Unzipped, which London's Sunday Times described as "lurid, raunchy, perceptive, and definitely worth reading," and which Women's Weekly described as "Astonishing . . . .and as X-rated as the actor himself." Three of Porter's earlier biographies (of Humphrey Bogart, Howard Hughes, and bisexual über-diva Katharine Hepburn) were each serialized in London's Mail on Sunday, and widely reviewed in the national and international press.

    I Also Recommend:

"Jacko" is a ficticious character, invented by tabloids

No one can write a biography about a ficticious character, "Jacko" with an invented name, made up by tabloid media. The idea is ridiculous. Michael Jackson's image is featured on the cover of this book, but his beautiful face is the only fact that this book could contain. I would never have any contact with any item that said "Jacko" nor would any of Michael's hundreds of millions of fans over the world. Michael's followers already know the real Michael because they read Michael's auto-biography and they have lived Michael's life with him and they know the truth. There is no need for any words beyond what Michael spoke and Michael's legacy from a life lived with the utmost dignity, highest integrity, and moral character. Generations will study Michael's words and no one else will speak for him. The rating system mandates at least one star be given but this is not worth the minimum one star rating.

I did not enjoy this book

It seemed to me that this enitre book was dedicated to proving that Michael Jackson was gay....which I still do not believe. Everythng that is in this book is based on supposed hearsay....and it even says so all of the way throughout the book. This may be a good book for those who only care about the gossip that was widely spread about Michael Jackson, which a lot of which was not even true. If you want to read a real book that can substantiate the facts, this is not the book for you. Not only that, it is extremely obvious that the author had a negative opinion of Michael Jackson. Instead of sticking this book on the shelf when I was done with it, I dropped it in the trash can. I would not recommend it.

the things one can learn form a book

being that he, michael jackson, is no longer (physically) with us his music shall live on as well as the books, magazines, posters, etc that are now coming out about/pertaining to him. there are a few that i can recommend & this here is 1 of them. theres alot of info that many of us already know about but dont hurt to be reminded. then there are those that arent true (we all have own opinions as to what is & what isnt). this is 1 of the books i would recommend for those who would like to know more about him.
