All Music Guide - Jason Birchmeier
A pop-rap sensation weeks before his debut album was even released, Chingy didn't really need a solid effort to move platinum-level units, as his massive breakthrough debut single, "Right Thurr," was certainly enough in itself. The track borrows everything wonderful about Nelly's "Hot in Herre" smash hit from the summer before. From the bouncy, bassy beats to the Southerrn dialect, and from the sexual overtones to the teen pop accessibility of the hook, "Right Thurr" is an instant party rap classic. The remainder of Jackpot -- especially "Holidae In," featuring both Ludacris and Snoop Dogg -- is nearly as tailor-made for pop-rap appeal. Credit largely goes to the Trak ...

The remainder of Jackpot -- especially "Holidae In," featuring both Ludacris and Snoop Dogg -- is nearly as tailor-made for pop-rap appeal. Credit largely goes to the Trak Starz, whose Neptunesque productions fill the album they produce all but one song. On the downside, the quality of the hooks sometimes doesn't match up to that of the beats, and Chingy himself lacks the substance to match his style. Still, there are enough well-crafted songs on Jackpot to make it an entertaining listen from beginning to end, provided you skip past a few songs here and there.

    Wackness!!!

This has got to be one of the worst albums in hip hop history. Women bought the bulk of these records, and most fellas like myself wouldn't by his bootleg. "Right Thurr" is catchy, but this album is wack. Nellyville, Murphy's Law and this album are some of the main reasons why hip hop is on the decline. If anybody agrees please e-mail me. Whatever happened to the days of "Illmatic", "Ready to Die", "Reasonable Doubt", and "Only Built for Cuban Linx". Hip Hop sucks now, besides a few artists (i.e. NAS,50 Cent, Jadakiss, and Common).

    Chingy rulz!!!! I love him

OK. Everyone knows Chingy rules, am I right? But who could of imagined that he'd make an album as great as Jackpot? My advice to y'all is if you don't have this album, get it! Trust me, you won't regret it for one second. Then if you don't trust me, hear for yourself. Or you could just borrow a friends CD and say you'll return it in a month or two. LOL! Just kidding with y'all! Well all I can say to y'all who are reading this is, well I basically just said all I want to say to y'all. I'll also add that I give Chingy two over-sized, huge thumbs up for Jackpot! I only hope he comes out with another album as good as Jackpot. He is so cool.

MUCH better then I anticipated it to be!!!

I didn't expect the album to have more than a couple good tracks on it, but I was wrong. This album is very good. Chingy has the same dirty south flavor as ludacris and nelly, but with a little different vibe to his music. This is a very good cd, and very much worth buying!!!
