In the new novel Jacob’s Nanny, Richard Anderson’s wife, Melissa, walks out on him. She has a “condition” to attend to, leaving him to cope with his busy schedule as a consultant plastic surgeon, as well as taking care of their four-year-old son, Jacob.
Kate Forrester’s life has just been turned upside down by her boyfriend, Alex, who she was hoping to marry. He’s found someone new who can fund his failing business. Meanwhile, a disheartened Kate is forced to find alternative accommodation in a shabby flat.
A chance meeting with Richard, at the dry cleaners where Kate finds work, results in a firm friendship and Kate becoming Jacob’s Nanny. She transforms Richard’s life, and it looks like they will become more than just friends when Richard’s mother intervenes. She connives to have her son become romantically involved with a local land owner’s daughter named Ingrid.
As Ingrid pushes their relationship forward, Richard finds his life becoming increasingly complicated again. He realises that his true feelings are for Kate, but as he starts to plan their future together, a phone call alerts him to the fact that she hasn’t picked Jacob up from nursery.
Jacob’s Nanny is a romantic thriller with lots of twists and turns.
Susan Johnston lives near Manchester, England, with her husband, Garry, son, Scott, and a West Highland Terrier named Rocky. She is a theatre nurse specializing in plastic surgery, and has already written her next book.
