School Library Journal - School Library JournalGr 5-9-- A flowing, well-written biography that reflects its subject's energy. From his early school days to the present, important details and events in Cousteau's life are described and illustrated with black-and-white and full-color photographs. The photos convey a sense of the man and amplify the text; unfortunately, some are dark, unclear, and blurry. The explorer's curiosity, intelligence, and persuasiveness have made him a figure of worldwide influence and importance, not only in underwater exploration but also in the environmental movement. This book captures those traits. Interesting and useful reading. --Frances E. Millhouser, Reston Regional Library, VA

i am doing a report on jacques cousteau. i was so glad when i found this book because it had everything i needed. it has good details but not stuff that no one cares about because it's too personal. and the pictures were fascinating. i love this book and recommend it.
