There are only three song on this album that are good. The rest is filled with screaming vocals and abrasive music. It might make a good kids album, but it's definitely not for the collector.

Only Joni Mitchell's Blue is as compelling honesty as Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill. Alanis starts with "All I Really Want", Joni starts with "All I Want" and they are both awesome Candians who know how to put words together. "You Ought to Know" and "Ironic" were the big hits on the album but can anyone not relate to Alanis' "Perfect" or her moral tale "You Learn"..please listen to the hidden track if you don't get the Joni Mitchell connection it pretty much says it all.

i got this listen to this album when i was 10...Alanis is my first major rock music influence...the tones that rip you off through your skin and the words that cut deep down...

Alanis Morissette has a way of combining wit and truth to all her songs, there is not one song on this CD that I don't like! I used to hate her music but recently I've found great respect for her voice. She also is quite fearless with her lyrics, pushing the envolope farther than most songstresses, she has a real tell-it-like-it-is quality besides a beautiful voice. Great album, go buy it!

When this album came first out, I hated Alanis's voice and shut off the radio whenever "You Oughta Know" came on. I thought she was just screaming. However, I bought this CD a few days ago, inspired by a recently-invigorated passion for her music. Not only are her lyrics poetry, but she pours out her soul in the chords of every single measure. "You Learn" provides a beautiful, heartfelt break from Alanis's laments, which are equally touching in their gut-wrenching trueness.

I have been an Alanis Morisette fan from the start of her career and this is by far the best CD shes has ever released! She has one of the neatest voices in the music industry and her songwriting is incredible! Anyone who even just likes one of her songs should pick this up you will be amazed that the whole Cd is awesome.

Alanis really knows how to express herself in her music. She is conforming and can write about things others don't dare reveal. Her music has helped me out of states of extreme self pity. Her personnal best.

This woman remind me of Sinéad O'Connor. Like Sinéad O'Connor did. Alanis Made a powerful and strong debut album, whit songs such as You Oughta Know, Perfect, Ironic and many more. When this album came out it choked everyone in Alanis's family, what her parents didn't know was that their little pretty girl was depressed angry and wanted to do something on her own and whit this album she could speak her own mind and make her own thing.

On this album you're gonna find musics that sound close to you.Some of them makes you think in our way of life.Listen to Perfect,Hand in My Pocket and Head Over Feet.If you wanna fly,listen to Mary Jane and Ironic.I find that the song You Learn give us strength even the bad situation we're dealing with.So this album is a terapy.

Undoubtedly, Jagged Little Pill offers to the public the purest soul of rock and roll brought back to life by this talented performer. Alanis Morrisette introduces in this album touching stories as well as gooey rythms with rebelious electronic guitar outbursts. Her one of a kind voice plays an important role in all of her melodies and you will fall in love with her capcity for converting every day situations in music and for using language so dramaticaly that your ears won't believe! Jagged Little Pill is the best female rock album of the past decade...remember that she picked up the album of the year award at the grammys in 1996...BUY it now or MISS it forever!!!

Alanis is the type of singer songwriter that reaffirms my love of music. Jagged Little Pill is simply a masterpiece. The only bad thing is that I can't decide which track is my favorite. Production, style, vocals, & lyrics are all excellent.

What an awesome collection of outstanding songs that just blow your mind after listening to them. Alanis made a great entrance with her first real album that still astounds people to this day. Some of my favorites (well, I love all the days) are ALL I REALLY WANT, RIGHT THROUGH YOU, YOU OUGHTA KNOW, HAND IN MY POCKET, and YOU LEARN. I recommend this for everyone.
