Overview

“Jake‘s Story Volume Two: Jake Comes To The Rescue” is the humorous and heartwarming story of the little rescue dog Jake who grunts like a pig and his remarkable animal friends. This book is a collection of the fourth, fifth, and sixth "The Little Pig Dog" children books combined into one volume. These three books originally entitled “Jake’s Snowy Adventure”, “Jake's Amazing Rescue”, and “Jake and the Rescue Club” are a continuing story as seen through Jake’s eyes and told from his perspective. Jake’s life is based on true events with fictional aspects added from Jake’s and the author’s imagination. This volume takes Jake from a snowy winter rescue of his best friend Marvin the possum, through a springtime stormy rescue of Spots the calf, to the little group of animal friend‘s decision to form a club and rescue the goat across the street. This anthology of The Little Pig Dog series combined into one volume is enjoyable reading for ages 9 and up, and is also excellent as a book of stories that can be read to children who are younger. In it they will learn of acceptance, family, courage, and that the Maker of us all has a purpose for each of our lives. Other than photos of Jake, all The Little Pig Dog books are non-illustrated.

“The Little Pig Dog“ series about Jake, the dog who grunts like a pig include: “The Dog Who Grunts Like A Pig: Jake’s Story” (first book), “Miraculous Jake” (second book), “Jake: Through The Possum Hole” (third book), “Jake’s Snowy Adventure” (fourth book), “Jake's Amazing Rescue” (fifth book), “Jake and the Rescue Club” (sixth book), “Jake and the Pot Belly Bully” (seventh book), “Jake’s Big Birthday Surprise” (eighth book), “Jake and Jasmine: the Little Girl Dog” (ninth book), "Jake and the Adventure of the Howling wind" (Tenth book), and "Jake and the Holiest Night of All" (eleventh book).

Other published works about Jake are: “JAKE: The Dog Who Grunts Like A Pig” (a non-fiction, short story prelude that introduces Jake, the little pig dog), “Jake’s Story Volume One: The Little Pig Dog" - a collection of the first three books in the series, “Jake‘s Story Volume Two: Jake Comes to the Rescue"- a collection of books four, five, and six in the series, and “Jake’s Story Volume Three: The Pot-Belly Pig Adventures"- a collection of books seven, eight, and nine in the series, and "The Adventures of Jake: the Complete Collection".

Authors Raymond G. and Glenda S. Candy - With over 30 years in Christian ministry, Mr. and Mrs. Candy have been Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists, Missionaries, and have established and been the Principal of three Christian schools. Their experience in teaching and working with children from Kindergarten through High School has given them a unique perspective and ability to relate to children at any level. This becomes evident in the reading of The Little Pig Dog series of books for children. Their experience as Ministers and their desire to bring revival to the smaller congregations and less fortunate is demonstrated in their Christian books about the miracle working power of God in the lives of everyday, ordinary individuals. Now in addition to The Little Pig Dog series of children books is their new “How to Walk Christian Series” of books and their book of memoirs entitled “The Memoirs of the Servants of the Lord”- a miraculous account of the Candy family’s Christian ministry.
