Christian Grawe, geb. 1935, hat Germanistik, Philosophie und Geschichte studiert und war bis zu seiner Emeritierung Professor für deutsche Literatur an der University of Melbourne. Er hat zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zu Jane Austen vorgelegt und ihre Romane zusammen mit seiner Frau zum ersten Mal vollständig ins Deutsche übersetzt.
