Overview

Smoldering desire, suppressed for 10 years, explodes into passion!

"If you like Sweet Home Alabama, you'll love JANE (I'm Still Single) JONES!" ~ Reader Review

What could be worse for a former high school beauty queen, who never landed the only man she ever loved, than attending--alone--her 10-year high school reunion? Not much, according to textile designer Jane Louise Jones as she prepares to endure the weekend in her hometown, just south of nowhere in the rolling hills of Louisiana, with her grandmother and the rest of the well-meaning Vernon Ladies Bridge Club trying their best to find her a husband.

Jane agreed to attend the reunion because her best friend told her that Morgan Sherwood, the town boy-wonder who made good in a big way, was going to be a no-show. Morgan, once her secret love, was a geeky teen who stole her heart and then broke it before leaving town forever.

Isn't it awful when you can't trust your best friend? Morgan arrives with his entourage in a stretch limo, and he's not a geeky kid any more. He's six feet of tanned, rippling muscles, and he plans to focus his high-powered brain and every seductive charm he possesses on the lovely Miss Jones.

With a former classmate intent on claiming the billionaire as husband number four, a Hollywood starlet who shows up to party with Morgan, and an old boyfriend intent on stealing Jane's affection, Morgan has more obstacles than he'd expected.

Throw in the matchmaking Vernon Ladies Bridge Club, lots of southern charm, a ten-year old betrayal, and plenty of romantic humor for a heartwarming, romantic comedy that will leave you with a smile.

    This read is great fun!

I read this last fall and have been meaning ever since to review it. I don't ordinarily read lighthearted books in any genre! Maybe it's my early reader influence, growing up with a mom who introduced me to the classics. I fell in love with the dark writers, Tolstoy, Hawthorne, the Bronte sisters. But I had corresponded with Joan and read her blog and liked it so much, so wanted to try her fiction. I loved the description of Jane I'm-Still-Single-Jones. Who hasn't attended their high school reunion and not felt what Jane feels? Even successful, the high school beauty queen, no less, you still feel somehow inadequate--and there's always that guy, the one relationship that didn't end right. Jane's story captures every nuance of reunion doubt and trepidation. In fact every character in the story is so well defined, I felt warmed in their presence. Joan Reeves is one smart, professional writer who knows her genre inside and out and just how to serve it up with equal measures of snappy dialogue, humor and romantic delight. I loved this book and recommend it!

    Wrong book

Bought this book after reading her others, inclyding "Scents and Scensuality". Opened it ready to settle in comfortably & read another good story, only to find that the "cover" says its "Jane (I'm Still Single) Jones" but inside it's "Scents and Scenduality" again. Barnes & noble gave me a refund but it seems as if it isnt possible to get the book i bought. Depressing
